Available Engineering Software

Obtaining Discounted Software:

The two major sources for discounted software through WSU are the ‘Tech Store’ Quick Link on ZZUSIS and the WSU Site License office.

The WSU Site License office deals with departmental software purchases whereas the the ZZUSIS link deals with purchases made by individuals.

Department Provided Software:

Beginning April 1, 2014 each Principal Investigator will need to provide individual copies of needed software to his or her research groups. Below are the stop dates for the BSysE licensed server software and possible options available.

SigmaPlot –expires April 1, 2014:

  1. Student License can be purchased for 2 yrs. @ $100.00/year. Restrictions are severe meaning no Post Docs, purchase orders, student must use personal credit card… Details
  2. Standard (academic) version is $549.00. Restrictions against commercial research Details

Matlab – Expires May 1, 2014:

  1. Student Version can be purchased for $99.00. Restrictions apply though not as severe as SigmaPlot…Details
  2. Standard (academic) version starts at $500.00. Restrictions against commercial research.

COMSOL – Expires Nov 1, 2014:
See attachment for all academic versions. Restrictions against commercial/government research apply. Figure $1700 + Modules (@$900/module) per user. No student editions.

SAS:
Members of Biological Systems Engineering have access to the SAS Statistical Package through a license provided by the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS). SAS Statistical Package – Installation Instructions

Branch Campus Users:

You will need to work through your local IT tech support to install these software packages as some network security and software access issues are involved.
